Hello Judith Reidy,
, can you tell me a little be about what you have been up to lately? What have you been? Have you found any interesting or inspiring art books?
One of the things I have been thinking about is color and mood. I was considering how color variations on a similar person or object can engender different reactions. I was delayed while waiting in a public place for a friend the other day. I had a great opportunity to sit back and watch everyone around me. There was a beautiful young girl with silky skin who put black lipstick on. Just by the addition, her soft silky appearance was turned to a look of cold death. What an effect! This morning as I looking out through the window the skyline was a rosey pink. The view immediately filled my day with hope and anticipation. A moment later I looked out to a dull gray and my heart sunk. Color and light are powerful triggers.
I hope to look at them more carefully in my upcoming WInter Weekend Workshop.
Here is a quick video about this feature in the workshop.
What color moods do you create when you
dress each day,
paint your house, or
make in your paintings?
Have you played around with color moods?
