The Life and Work of Frank Lloyd Wright
Not only will we have a first rate explaination of Wright's design ideas, but we will learn about the manys intrigue of his life.
This may appear to be a little out of our painting topic, but I assure you John will be talking DESIGN, which has been very much on topic.
I promise you John has much to say on this topic.
"In one of my college architectural design classes the Italian professor
said to a classmate "Your plan is correct, however it does not sing".
The same applies to other forms of art.
In Paris, the St. Ambrose gothic church is absolutely of that style,
however it was built in the mid 1800's using the latest machine
technology. It does not SING.
Notre Dame was hand built over a century of time and is a Soprano!
You gave me the cocept for my Wright presentation.
Mr. Wright's eternal talent is his ability to translate complex
archtectural ideas into
concrete works of art that are both usable and beautiful. His buildings
are full Operas!"
